Create the photo

Add a portrait with some space around the head.

Your image is decoded and re-encoded by this browser. There is no upload step, no server-side queue, and no stored copy. How local processing works.

The short version

How it works.

No installer, no sign-up, and no second app to open. The work happens in the browser you already have, using the file already on your device.

  1. Add your portrait

Choose a clear photo with space around the head. Lovely Tools opens it in a fixed-ratio crop frame.

  2. Frame the face

Pick your country’s photo size, then zoom and move the image until the head and shoulders fit the guides.

  3. Download the photo

Export a PNG at 300 DPI, plus a JPG print sheet when the size allows two or more copies. Check your authority’s requirements for background, expression, and head size before submitting it.

Fine print, without the runaround

Good to know.

Every tool has a boundary. These are the ones worth knowing before you start, so the result is not a surprise.

Sizes vary by document

A passport photo and a visa photo can use different sizes even in the same country. Confirm the exact millimetres on the relevant government page.

Composition rules matter

Most authorities require a plain light background, a neutral expression, and a specific head height. This tool controls the frame, not those photographic requirements.

Which countries are included?

The presets include the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, the EU/Schengen area, China, and Japan, among others. Check the exact size on your authority’s page if your document is not listed.

Will the photo be accepted?

Only your issuing authority can confirm that. This tool produces the requested dimensions and composition; you still need to follow the background, lighting, and expression rules.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The crop and export happen on a local canvas. The portrait never leaves your device.
