JPG has no transparency
Transparent areas need to become a solid colour in a JPEG. Lovely Tools uses white by default, which is the safest choice for documents and product photos.
Image tools
Convert between JPG, PNG, and WebP without a converter installation or a cloud upload. Transparency and image size are handled with your chosen format in mind.
No upload. No account. Files stay on your device. The processing happens in this browser tab—an unusual arrangement in a category full of upload forms.

JPG, PNG, and WebP. Add up to 20 files, 25.0 MB each.
Added locally. Nothing is uploaded.
Higher is clearer and larger.
The image is decoded at its full size and encoded once. Camera metadata—including GPS location—does not carry over to the new file. Converting cannot restore detail that was lost in an earlier JPEG.
Add at least one image to begin.
Your image is decoded and re-encoded by this browser. There is no upload step, no server-side queue, and no stored copy. How local processing works.
The short version
No installer, no sign-up, and no second app to open. The work happens in the browser you already have, using the file already on your device.
Add JPG, PNG, or WebP images. Conversion runs from the original image in your browser, not a screenshot of it.
JPEG is compatible everywhere, PNG supports transparency, and WebP is a strong choice for smaller web images. Set quality for lossy formats.
Review the new file sizes and save everything as a ZIP or one file at a time.

Fine print, without the runaround
Every tool has a boundary. These are the ones worth knowing before you start, so the result is not a surprise.

Modern browsers, design tools, and content platforms handle WebP. It is usually smaller than JPG and can keep transparency, unlike JPEG.
PNG is excellent for crisp graphics and transparency. For detailed photographs it can be several times larger than a good JPEG or WebP.
JPEG cannot store transparency, so every transparent pixel needs a colour. We use white, which looks natural in most documents. Keep PNG or WebP if the transparent background matters.
No. Converting cannot recover detail that was discarded when the JPEG was created. It can stop further lossy compression, but it will usually make the file much larger.
Both can hold transparency. PNG is a lossless, older format with universal compatibility. WebP is newer, typically much smaller for photographs, and well supported by browsers and modern apps.
No. The conversion uses the browser’s image decoder and canvas encoder on your own device. Your files never enter a server-side job queue.
Next door
Most file jobs come in pairs. These three usually follow close behind.
