A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. Local storage works similarly but keeps data in the browser rather than sending it with every request. Lovely Tools uses both sparingly. The only always-on storage is what makes your preferences work. Analytics is on by default outside the regions that require consent; where consent is required, Google’s message records your choice. Advertising is provided through Google AdSense and follows your consent choices and location.
Necessary storage
These entries are required for the site to behave the way you asked. They are stored locally and are not used to track you across other websites.
| Name | What it holds | Duration |
|---|---|---|
pf-theme | Your light or dark theme preference. | Until you clear site data. |
pf-consent-v1 | Your analytics choice, once you make one, and, where applicable, your advertising choice, with a timestamp. | Until you clear site data or change your choice. |
Both are kept in local storage, not as server-readable cookies. They contain no file data and no identifying profile.
Analytics cookies
Unless you turn analytics off, or Google’s consent message applies a different choice, Lovely Tools uses Google Analytics 4. The analytics tag is present on every page. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, analytics storage is denied until you allow it through Google’s consent message or the cookie settings. Google may set cookies that distinguish browser sessions and measure how the site is used. The data is aggregated into reports; we do not send file names or document contents.
If you turn analytics off, Google Analytics is told not to use analytics storage or cookies. It may still receive cookieless, aggregated signals.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes browsers for aggregate usage measurement. | Up to 2 years. | |
_ga_* | Maintains session state for the configured analytics property. | Up to 2 years. |
Google may update cookie names or durations. The authoritative details are in Google’s cookie information.
Advertising cookies
Lovely Tools displays Google AdSense advertising. Depending on your location and consent choices, ads may load by default or after you allow advertising. In regions that require it, Google’s certified consent message collects advertising consent before ad cookies are used. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to deliver ads, limit how often the same ad appears, measure effectiveness, and personalise ads depending on your choices and location. Names and lifetimes are controlled by Google and can change. Use the Ad settings button in cookie settings to review advertising consent where Google’s message applies.
| Example names | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__gads, __gpi, and related identifiers | Google and advertising partners | Ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and measurement. | Varies; commonly up to around 13 months. |
Advertising cookies can be used to recognise your browser across sites that participate in Google’s advertising network. They are not used by Lovely Tools to see your files, because the files never enter a network request.
Changing your mind
Use the at any time to review analytics and advertising choices. Where Google’s consent message applies, it also covers analytics if the message is configured to do so, and the Ad settings button opens that message. Your analytics choice is saved on your device. Turning analytics off applies immediately and stops new analytics cookies; cookies already set by Google are removed through your browser settings or Google’s own controls.
You can also manage storage directly:
- Clear site data for this site in your browser’s privacy or storage settings. This removes the theme and consent preferences too, so analytics returns to its default and you can turn it off again.
- Use Google My Ad Center to control personalised advertising on Google services.
- Use your browser’s tracking protection or a content blocker. Every Lovely Tools tool continues to work without advertising or analytics.
What is never stored
- No files, file names, thumbnails, or extracted PDF pages.
- No account details, because there are no accounts.
- No passwords or document contents.
- No server-side session that links your visits into a profile.
